Last winter started with a little bit out of the blue...... We chose Colorado as our destination. Thought that it could be our last winter for our journey here... it made us busy to plan a vacation full of many exciting activities, put in a high expectation that it should be memorable. Planned for doing snow mobile, dog sleigh, snow tubing, and all winter activities.
We left right after Christmas, because we would like to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our friends here first.
Stayed one night at Amarillo then continued to Mount Harvard - Buena Vista , Colorado, driving in nice weather, from 50's degree to 30's degree at that time.
We were packed in a MPV with 8 passengers and all the luggage for winter. It kept us warm though ......

Stayed in a cozy cabin and went to Pikes Peak - Manitou Spring on the next morning to enjoy the beautiful view of Pikes Peak. The view was so beautiful that inspired Katharine Lee Bates who taught English at Wellesley College in Massachusetts to write it down in a poem "America the Beautiful"

On the next day we were so worried about the weather and the road condition. We checked at the weather forecast that there would be a winter storm coming to our area and some roads were already closed.
Even though we were prepared for this situation, but still......
After checking all of the options that we had, we continued to the next destination.
We spent 3 nights in a condo where kids enjoyed outdoor ice skating, snow tubing, snow fighting.

Before we went back to Texas and start this new year, on January 1st 2015, we attended Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church at Breckenridge.
Feel grateful that we can start this year with God's blessings......

After all we've been through.......
No regret for not doing snow mobile or dog sleigh or other activities that we had already planned.
We feel that God's hand is always with us while we were staying in the cabin, snow fighting, snow tubing, enjoying the beautiful view, and also worrying the road condition due to the winter storm.
So it's true.....
This winter vacation is memorable.....
We spent time together with our parents and my niece also, shared all the happy moments.......
All of this reminds us to always be thankful and blessed.
Now....
As days gone by....we are excited for the next new journey...............
Friday morning,
at my favorite place to write
